3 Ways to Transfer an Embroidery Pattern to Fabric

There are admittedly more than just these three ways to transfer your embroidery pattern onto your fabric. Nevertheless, with these three affordable techniques under your belt, you probably won’t need to bother with any other methods.

Method #1: Trace with a lightbox and pencil
This method works best in a pinch as long as your fabric is white or very light colored.

Method #2: Make an iron-on transfer with a heat transfer pen
A slight variation from method #1, this method also works well on medium-colored fabrics. It also has the benefit of giving you an iron-on transfer that can be used more than once.

Method #3: Use water soluble stabilizer
If you plan to work on very dark-colored fabric or highly textured fabric, such as terry cloth or velvet, then water soluble stabilizer will quickly become your best friend.

All three of these methods are explained in the video tutorial below. Enjoy!
