Method #1: Thread Folding
Requires an even number of threads, but leaves no loose threads to tie down. This simplest method is usually the best, which is why it’s the first one explained in the video below.
Method #2: Thread Knotting
This method can be done with any number of threads, but it is not an ideal way to begin an embroidery project. Nevertheless, a brief explanation is given in the video below, beginning at the 2:58 mark.
Method #3: Thread Weaving
If you must use an odd number of threads, then this is the ideal way to start your project. This explanation begins at mark 03:53 in the video below.
